1. Green Park

Grab a bottle of wine, a punnet of strawberries from Marks and Spencer over the road and sit and enjoy the view.  Green park is an oasis in the city just below London’s Mayfair.  It’s got great transport connections with Green Park tube just on the outskirts and and many bus stops along its perimeter.

The Park is a social hot bed for groups meeting for a leisurely get together, singles sunbathing and couples dating.  If you like people watching this is the place, Green Park is a great date location in the Summer.

2. The South Bank

The South Bank of the Thames is awash with bars and restaurants.  Walking along the river is a date in itself, and why not stop off at the frozen yogurt bus to choose your favorite flavours.

There is so much to see and do here with the attractions changing frequently.

Why not duck in and out of the bars, or stop for a meal once you have walked up an appetite. The South Bank is a great daytime or evening location to head to, easily accessible from Waterloo or Embankment via the walk way.

3. The Shard

One of London’s great architectural spectaculars, the Shard has amazing 360 views of london.  You can book a trip to the viewing platform, but its quite pricey at £29 or you can just visit one of the bars and enjoy the same for a price of a drink. If you are new to London or just want to do something a little different the Shard has the wow factor.

4. Kensington Roof Gardens

Kensington roof gardens plays host to many private parties and events but you can gain access via a request on the guest list at the members club or a meal at the Babylon Restaurant.  The breath taking mix of Spanish and Tudor Gardens with English Woodland is enough to warm anyones heart.

5. Rib Tour On The Thames

Fancy being James Bond for an hour?  A Rib is a semi rigid speed boat often used by rescue services.  These boats are specially designed for tours and knowledgeable guides give you an insight into the Thames history and sights along the way. With speeds of up to 30 Knots though this is not your average tour, you will be whisked along with some tight turns and wind blowing through your hair.  Something for those who love a little excitement or just something different.

6. Borough Market

If you are on a bit of a budget it’s possible to sample your way around Borough Market for next to nothing.  Its full of food and drink traders from all over Europe offering the best in produce.  The sights and smells emanating from the freshly cooked food is something to be experienced.  The Market is surrounded by bars and restaurants so you can rest your feet with a drink and a chat following your mammoth sampling session.

7. Boating Hyde Park

For the price of £12 you can show off your rowing skills or if you’d rather jump in a pedal boat onto the gorgeous Serpentine Lake.  Away from the hussle of the city, only sharing the lake with fellow boaters and ducks.  What better way to get to know your date than sploshing around in the water.

8. London Zoo

Want to re-live your youth or just an animal fanatic? Grab some tickets to London Zoo.  With Tigers, Gorillas and playful Penguins. There are so many amazing animals to see here.  Want to your date to jump into your arms? Take her to the BUGS display of over 140 species of creepy crawlies.

9.  Tate Modern

One of the most visited museums in London. Feast your eyes on the art installations, many of the exhibits are free but some of the special ones charge a small fee.  Wander around and see what your passions dictate.  Share views with your date on the visual spectaculars that await around every corner. Who knows there may be a budding art critique within you just waiting to get out.

10.  Columbia Road Flower Market

What better way to find your way into your dates heart by visiting the glorious flower market on Columbia Road and buying a bunch to take home.  Every Sunday Columbia Road plays host to a spectacular array of plants, shrubs, herbs and flowers.  For the best display though get there early, it starts at around 8am and warms down from 2pm. There are also gift shops and galleries lining the street that you can pop in and out of as you explore the magnificent blooms.
