marriageOn June 26th the supreme court struck down the Defense of Marriage Act and reinstated gay marriage in California, this is a massive win for gay rights in America and people have been rejoicing ever since.
Anyone who has ever read a gossip magazine will know that as well as giving thousands of couples the right to a legal union there are also some exciting celebrity ramifications that may come from this law change.
Have you guessed what the connection between gay marriage and Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie is yet? Yes? Let me clarify… Brad and Angelina have both stated that they won’t get married until gay marriage is legalized in America and it looks like this recent development is going to be enough to convince this couple to wed.

Is it time for the marriage of the decade?

Brad and Angelina announced their engagement in April 2012 after being together for almost ten years. They have both mentioned that it was pressure from their six children that made Brad finally give in and put a ring on that finger.
This, combined with the sources who have allegedly told Vh1’s The Gossip Tale that the couple have already set a date for the summer, is making many gossip writers predict that celebrity magazines will be fighting for snaps of this monumental wedding sooner rather than later.

What does this mean for you?

Think of everything Brad and Angelina have been through, the cheating rumors, the harsh words from the public when they first got together, Angelina’s double mastectomy earlier this year, raising six children (You know that can’t be easy) and Angelina’s tumultuous relationship with her father. If they can survive all that pressure and come out swinging you know that you can too.

Sometimes fighting for the person you love is tiring, sometimes you will stop and question if it is even worth it. When you come to that fork in the road think about Brad and Angelina and all the couples for have devoted their time and money to the legalization of gay marriage and you will realize that, yes, for the right person, the fight is most definitely worth it.

Take some time to remember why you fell in love with your beau in the first place and it will help you put everything in perspective.
And if you need something a little extra to renew your faith in love, consider what Brad Pitt said about his partner recently:

‘That’s who I fell in love with from the very beginning. The person that you see now is the person that I’ve always known and she’s heroic and incredibly strong and will attack any problem head-on and make it work.’

I couldn’t agree more–now we just need guidelines for what to do when we find a potential partner…..
