Control Freak by @OnlineDateCoach | Singles WarehouseAre you a control freak? If you’re not sure, you could ask a close friend because they’ll tell you. And if a friend isn’t available, just ask yourself this question, do I always need to have everything a certain way? Your way!?

Control freaks need to have it their way

There was once a point in time when I seriously had to ask myself if I was becoming a control freak. I think it was during my early twenties when I began to really develop my views on life.

I didn’t want to be another know-it-all. I knew how “bossy” those types can come across and I didn’t want to be known for that. So I decided to change my approach and remembered, you can catch more flies with honey than with vinegar.

It’s time to open your mind to new things

There is no reason to have everything a certain way, all the time. Talk about causing unnecessary stress on yourself and those around you.

It’s impossible to do everything yourself and you can’t go around telling everyone how to do things either. So when your date offers to make the dinner reservations one night, go along with whatever they come up with.

Adding some variety to life is healthy. Insisting to have everything done your way–and freaking out whenever it’s not–will only lead to having stomach problems later in life. Let someone else take control and just enjoy.

How to not be such a control freak

If any of this sounds like you, learn to let go sometimes and just let things be the way they are. If you want more guidance on how to relax and let go of stuff, contact me for coaching.

Dating is tough. Remember everyone grew up in a different house. Be patient and pay attention; maybe you’ll learn something about the person that you like.

Have you ever been called a control freak… has it hurt your relationships?

Or have you ever dated a control freak… how did that work out for you?

So true, Kristina, that’s why you may not even realize that you’re doing it. After so long, controlling situations can just become part of who you are. It could be in your nature to take over but it’s healthy to have balance and let others do their thing too. Things don’t always have to be a certain way.
