An air of romance abounds because last Friday, was Tu be’Av, the Jewish Valentine’s day and I was in a relationship. OK, early days, but still a relationship. So romantic guy that I am, I had flowers sent to her apartment together with a small box of melted chocolates. Don’t blame me, they were sitting outside waiting for her. If she wanted fresh chocolates, she should be at home when I send a gift. Right? OK, none of you will agree with me. In this day and age, women also work. They are entitled to not be at home.
Is that all I did for my lady friend? No. On Friday I took her to a spa where we had a couple’s massage and had breakfast together by the sea and a long day of pampering after which she told me that she loved me. I don’t blame her. I am a real catch. What should I have answered her? “I fully understand”, “Cool”, “Thank you”, “It is about time” or just shut up any further conversation by smothering her with kisses?
Well, I guess I am now in a committed relationship. I changed my Facebook status and updated Jdate to suspend my account. Now the rest of her family want to meet me and have “invited” us on Saturday for a barbecue by the sea. Is it too late to run?
Now that I am in this relationship, I guess my main question is when can I let her open her own car door? Kill Me Now!
