London 2012, the Olympics, Really Big Sports Day – whatever you are calling it, the UK is about to be hit by hundreds of primed and ready athletes ready to compete in the world’s biggest competition and whether it’s the sprints, swimming or beach volleyball, it’s likely most of us will tune in to watch some of the action.
We got to talking about the games the other day in the PenMyProfile office when we read that the organisers have ordered in 100,000 condoms for the competitors – because apparently the 70,000 ordered for Sydney’s Olympics weren’t enough.
So what do you make of that? It’s nice to know that after all that sweat, muscles and medals the athletes are human after all – with the same urges as us normal folk.
And of course what with all that adrenaline and physical perfection knocking about, it goes without saying things are going to get raunchy.
But what we mostly wondered was what these chaps would be like to date.
They’ve got passion, dedication and fitness down to a tee – but could you handle a partner more committed to the pool than you? Imagine if they missed out on a medal! That’s one bad day at the office that would take a giant dose of cheer up.
Of course, most of us are never likely to find out – but there is something that we can take from these athletes.
On one day, in one split moment, they can make history. Years of training, months of conditioning and buckets of sweat can come down to one small second and all they can do is hope that all their work up to that point will see them right.
And that’s just like what happens when a potential date is browsing an online dating site. In one moment, they’ve judged you and have either clicked ‘Next’ or ‘Message’. So, this Olympics, make like an athlete and ensure you’ve put in your groundwork so that when your moment comes, you’ll be heading for Gold – and all those condoms!
