Last week on my blog I ranted about some guy not replying to my messages. I would send a text, he would reply, I would
reply [with something to reply to] then he wouldn’t reply back. Usually after I’ve been ignored once, I move on but thought – NO! I’m going to break this mould I’ve set and text him again a few days later… Only to be met by the same response; I text, he texts, I text back – nothing.
I was not best pleased
So a few days of getting virtually nothing – he would sometimes randomly click ‘like’ on my Facebook statuses, Tres annoying; he was acting like he didn’t have my phone number – I decided to just ask him what his deal was.
Usually I would just walk away from this situation.
One – Because it’s rude to ignore someone
Two – It was wasting my mind space time and
Three – I didn’t want to come across as desperate
But after I asked him, he apologised for his general shittyness. So what would be the point in me brushing him under the carpet and not accepting his apology? It hasn’t got me very far so far has it?
Guys rarely get a second chance; when they piss me off, I harden my heart and decide “no more” Just. Like. That. Only you can’t do that all the time, with every guy you meet can you?One hiccup and you’re through?
Yes there are limits to this kind of thing, like if he completely ignores you constantly or updates his faebook status to ‘In a relationship’.
I saw this quote the other day and changed the word ‘beliefs’ to ‘stupid rules’.
“If you don’t change your beliefs, your life will be like this forever. Is that good news?”
The answer is simply. No, it is not good news!
If he didn’t reply to my message about ‘ignoring’ me I would have moved on; but he didn’t, he said sorry so I’ve accepted it. My one chance and you’ve blown it ‘rule’ hasn’t working for me so far so; like Sainsburys say, I’m going to try something new. All I can say is…
Expect nothing… but hope for the very best.
