To Pee or Not To Pee? Could this be Pee Dating? Our resident Singles Warehouse Expert, Single Dating Diva answers those very questions.

When I saw this picture I couldn’t help but laugh … and think, is that me? Um, yes, and not necessarily while I’m in a long term relationship.  Well, I’m really not shy and I

don’t really care about someone I’m with seeing my body.  I mean everyone goes to the loo.  Everyone.  So why are so many people shy and embarrassed about someone they are with seeing them sitting on the toilet?  I think it’s because of what it is.  It’s not attractive, I won’t lie.  When you’re dating all you want is for someone to see you looking your best and God forbid, you, well, you know, fart, by accident.

Is that wrong or right?  Well, me, personally, I don’t care, I’ll pee in front of the guy I’m with if we’ve become intimate already.  The other stuff, I prefer to leave that to my alone time.  Not because I’m shy, but because no one wants to experience that.  I don’t care if a guy pees in front of me.  I’m not offended.  Actually, I think it shows comfort and displays another level of intimacy.  Some people do take it too far though.  Like one guy I dated.  We were on our second date at a restaurant and he excused himself to go to the toilet.  Ten minutes go by and he still hasn’t returned.  Then I get a text with him apologizing that he isn’t back yet, but it’s taking him longer than he thought, that he was feeling a little constipated, but, we can chat by text until he comes back, he asked if I could keep him company. LOL!!! Um, OK … awkward!

Is this Pee Dating?

The way I look at it, if you have sex with someone then going pee in front of them is no big deal.  The other stuff, well … I think that’s better left to your own private time.  If you want to do it, don’t have a discussion about it, just do it.  We need to stop being embarrassed about what comes naturally.  Be who you are and if others don’t like it, well, too bad for them!  So all you boys that date me, don’t be surprised if I walk around naked and pee in front of you.  Just saying.  One guy once asked me to pee on him … but that’s a different story …

So do you pee in front of your partner or do you find it horrid? I’d love to hear about it!

Happy Dating!

That pic is awesome. Peeing in front of your significant other is no biggie. I fart in front of mine. Wrote about that some time ago. It’s been quite controversial. But number two is where I draw the line – and shut the door!

Thanks for the comment. I totally agree that it’s no big deal. We need to be comfortable in our own skin.

I only have the following to say – “Get out of my bathroom!!!”

  • Ewww, why did he tell you he was constipated? Did you have text chat while you both waited?
Hmm… I couldn’t pee in front of a guy. I find it hard to pee even when someone – ANYONE is standing on the other side of the door! :)

Thanks for the comment Bella! Honestly, constipation is not 2nd date territory … neither is spending most of our date chatting via text! LOL … but makes for a good story!!!

Seriously, the pee concept, so over it.
Shouldn’t ever be considered an embarrassing sitch, really. I’d almost wager that if you CAN’T do that in front of each other, do NOT make the mistake of getting married. :)

Dropping the duke-factor, however, is an ENTIRELY different story.

Poop.I said it. Poop. It happens, but it doesn’t have to be a team effort. It’s a solo pursuit.

THE Ryan Lindsay! Thanks for the comment! I totally agree with you! People make too big of a deal about it … but no team effort … I wonder if anyone ever built a bathroom with 2 toilets in it? Would anyone use it? Something to think about next time you’re sitting on the toilet …

      • I’m sure I’ve seen a bathroom with a his ‘n’ hers layout. Two toilets, two sinks, you get the drift… It might have been on cribs mind :)

With my last truly long term boyfriend, I had no chance to be shy about peeing because he literally just walked in while I was peeing, despite the door being ajar. I remember calling out ‘hey,’ but he just laughed. He had seen me naked already, so what was the big deal in his thinking? I remember one time I didn’t finish quickly enough so he just literally peed over me. That was going a bit far. Then there was the time he thought it’d be hilarious to pee on me in the shower… “I can’t believe you just did that!” So yeah, I learned to get comfortable with having no pee boundaries with him. ;)

Thanks for the comment! Seriously peeing is no big deal … really it isn’t. Sometimes we need a little nudge, well, in your case a big nudge, to realize it.

Don’t most guys do their best reading on the toilet?

  • Pee in front of a romantic partner…yes…while I’m not really a fan nor encourage it…it’s not a huge deal (though I think the longer you can hold off the better…there’s a reason people have to “spice things up” in marriages…and it’s not because they were having too much “nothing but sexy things” time).

Pee in front of someone I’m sleeping with, a one off or even someone I’m newly dating…not a chance. It’s the same logic behind why you shouldn’t tell someone your entire sexual history including a categorized lists of all your exes and just exactly what they did wrong, on the first date. You have to ease into these things and I’m a big fan of social protocol and decorum lol. Give it to me good, and then close the door.

Yes, there is something to be said for discretion in certain things. I just think it’s not as big a deal as people make it. But I’m a big believer in doing what makes you comfortable, so if you want to do it, do it, if you don’t then that’s ok too.

Hilarious! I wrote something similar to this a few months back. I personally have no qualms with peeing in front of your partner. I agree, if you’re having sex with them, then you shouldn’t be disgusted by pee.

I draw the line at “number two” though. I have a scar on my eyebrow because a girl tried doing that to me in the shower. Not even kidding.

    So pee away!

A little mystery is always a positive. I say keep the door shut. Unless your on a camping trip.

I think it’s a personal preference, no judging, but what happens when a public peer falls in love with a private peer? Can it still work?

    • Reply May 23, 2012

      singledatingdiva

LOL … well, they would have to compromise like with everything else … what’s more important, the peeing or the relationship really? Or maybe pee with the door just slightly ajar? ;)

I love the pic and that it inspired you to write a post about it! I also don’t have a problem peeing in front of someone I’m involved with intimately if necessity calls for it (both running late for work in the morning, he’s in the bathroom getting ready too and waiting seems ridiculous). However, if I have the option, I close the door. I like the balance of comfort and familiarity with also keeping my partner looking at my body and associating it with something a little more sexy than mundane! But I’d run from a guy who freaked at the concept.

Thanks for the comment :) I totally agree with you, don’t do it just for the sake of doing it, but it’s no big deal if it’s necessary. It’s really no big deal and people shouldn’t make it one.
