Best date you’ve been on?
It was a spur of the moment first date. We went apple picking on a beautiful day. It was a great mix of fun, food and fresh air. It would be been perfect if he’d kissed me under the apple tree.
Worst date you’ve been on?
I met up with a real estate agent at a local bar and he was with his friends. After they gave him a thumbs-up (literally) we ordered drinks and went off to talk by ourselves. He ordered a bright green martini with graham cracker crumbs around the rim (quite a girly drink) except there weren’t crumbs on the rim. After yelling at the waitress over his botched drink order, he showed me a $10,000 commission check for a house he had just sold and told me how rich he was. He tried to kiss me at the end of the date and ended up licking my face as I swerved out of the way.
Why do you enjoy writing for Singles Warehouse?
The writers are a great mix of people with varying perspectives all in one place. Plus, it’s a funny group of people!
Most embarrassing dating story?
While I was studying abroad in London, my mother met a nice woman from London who was on vacation in the US. The woman had shown my mother a picture of her two sons (one gorgeous, one not) and suggested we meet so he could show me around London. My mother assumed she was introducing me to the more attractive son. We spoke on the phone several times prior to meeting and the conversations were quite flirty. I finally met him at his family’s flat where I was introduced to his mum who had set us up…and his gorgeous, married brother.
What do you think a relationship is about?
Partnership–being there through the ups and downs in life and supporting each other.
What golden bit of online dating advice would you give?
Don’t take it too seriously, even if you’re looking for a serious relationship. Roll with the punches, meet new people and have fun. You might be surprised who you end up meeting.
